One comment on “Graphic Frank Breech Home Birth

  1. Thankfully the mother was on hands and knees and the baby was flexed and arms were in their proper place as shown ahead by the crease in the chest. Hands and knees is a key to safe breech birth. This doctor can learn how to tell everything is fine from Dr. Frank Louwen and Midwife Jane Evans and what to do instead of pulling on the baby from Midwife Mary Cronk. This doctor does pull but since baby is in the ideal breech exiting position his pulling doesn’t harm. A small amount of fundal pressure when the doctor wanted the arms born would have brought them out in this case and the pulling would be entirely avoided. Learn what is normal and how to tell in the upcoming Midwifery Today magazine which will be devoted to breech. All in all this is a wonderful option to cesarean in which there would have been more pulling! And the Doc passed the baby to Mom quickly for the benefit of baby and mother. He didn’t cut the cord which is also a key factor in safe breech birthing. He got two out of three, but he didn’t know touch would not have been necessary for this baby. Knowing when to touch and when to be hands free is key. Thank you for posting this video.
